FIRST FRIDAYS AT MMoCA

Madison’s social scene has a favorite tradition with the museum’s First Fridays at MMoCA cultural soirée. With a fun monthly theme, contemporary art, and local music, MMoCA puts the art back in party. Events run from 5:30 to 8 pm on the first Friday of the month.

August 1 • 5:30-8 pm
Summer Soul
Get your groove on at MMoCA as Vibe Syndicate plays their unique mix of R&B and funk on the rooftop. Hear from artists Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt about their new museum-wide installation, The Absent City, and enjoy a drink in the sculpture garden. Free for museum members and anyone wearing paisley | $5 admission for non-members.

September 5 • 5:30-8 pm
Honky Tonk Happy Hour
Tap your toes to the honky tonk/western swing/Americana croonin’ of the Dang Its. Celebrate the last days of summer and enjoy the sunset over State Street. Free for members and anyone in cowboy kitsch | $5 admission for non-members.

Guests at all First Fridays can take advantage of a 10 percent discount on purchases in the Museum Store (with certain exclusions). Member discounts also apply.
