MMoCA Nights take place from 6:30 to 9 pm in conjunction with museum events such as exhibition openings, Gallery Nights, and film screenings. Take in the galleries to see art that will generate inspired conversation, or head for the rooftop to hear live music, indulge in great food and drink, and enjoy bird’s-eye views of downtown Madison.
Friday, May 21
Stop by to celebrate the opening of the Wisconsin Triennial. Enjoy mingling with Triennial artists and art lovers from throughout the state, refreshments from Fresco, and live music by the UW-affiliated East Avenue Jazz Group.
Friday, June 4
Be on hand to kick off the museum’s fifth Rooftop Cinema series, presenting avant-garde films under the stars. Start the evening off with a 6:30 pm gallery talk with Triennial artist Kim Cridler, then move upstairs for refreshments from Fresco and music by Chick Singer from 7 to 9 pm. The films will begin after sunset, at approximately 9:30 pm.
Friday, August 6
Summer is wonderful when you’re on the rooftop. Celebrate the final days of summer by enjoying refreshments from Fresco and music by the Caravan Gypsy Swing Ensemble from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, followed by the museum’s first-ever August rooftop film screening. “Best of Rooftop Cinema” will begin at approximately 9 pm.
MMoCA Nights feature $5 refreshments from Fresco and a cash bar. The evenings are free for members and $5 for non-members.
