Wig Out at MMoCA
Friday, November 2 • 5:30-8 pm
MADISON, WI -- In honor of its current exhibitions, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art presents a special Hairy Who edition of First Fridays at MMoCA from 5:30 to 8 pm on November 2. The event is free for MMoCA members and for anyone wearing a wig or faux facial hair; $5 admission for all others.
Activities include:
• The exhibitions Karl Wirsum: Winsome Works(some) and Hairy Who (and some others) in MMoCA’s main galleries;
• A contest for the Biggest, Best, and Bluest wig, judged by the staff at Cha Cha Beauty + Barber (7 pm);
• The sounds of the 1960s and the Age of Aquarius in the lobby;
• Blue Moon beers for $2.50;
• 10% off Museum Store purchases (member discounts also apply).
Sports fans (and those struggling to understand sports fans) will want to attend a gallery talk by Dr. Carla Corroto. Dr. Corroto will discuss sports as a social phenomenon in conjunction with the exhibition Tim Laun: Sunday, September 20th, 1992 (6:30 pm).
