The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art has nearly 6,000 art objects representing roughly 1,400 artists in its permanent collection.

MMoCA exhibits, collects, and preserves modern and contemporary art. Its collection of Chicago Imagists is among the largest in the world. MMoCA also has a significant collection of Mexican Modernist and a noteworthy collection of contemporary photography.
