The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is a chic and sophisticated venue that can accommodate a variety of events, including networking receptions, holiday parties, annual meetings, business presentations, or other celebrations. Designed by renowned architect César Pelli, the architecture of MMoCA is a stunning contemporary backdrop that will enhance your event. The Museum features rotating exhibitions featuring cutting-edge contemporary artwork which will delight, inspire, and engage your guests.
Located in the heart of Madison, between the State Capitol and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, MMoCA is surrounded by a vibrant downtown community filled with cuisine, entertainment, and shopping experiences all within walking distance. Event Spaces
Rooftop Sculpture Garden
The Rooftop Sculpture Garden is the most popular space for events, accommodating 175 guests for a standing reception or up to 100 guests for a sit-down dinner. With fresh views of Downtown Madison and the Capitol Building, this space provides a unique experience for your guests attending an event here.
Rooftop Lounge
Recently renovated, the Rooftop Lounge holds 80 guests inside the indoor space adjacent to the Rooftop Sculpture Garden on the third floor, containing lounge furniture and a bar. This space is reached by the glass stairs or an elevator, and has views of downtown Madison and the Capitol Building. With the ability to host up to 80 guests for a standing reception, or 64 for a sit-down dinner, the Lounge is perfect for a private party on the third floor while still indoors.
Museum Lobby
The MMoCA Lobby can accommodate up to 175 guests for a standing reception or up to 100 guests for a sit-down dinner. This space holds the iconic 3-story glass window curtains, paired with the impressive glass staircase perfect for taking memorable photos.
Lecture Hall
The MMoCA Lecture Hall can accommodate up to 230 guests for talks, films, or meetings, built to accommodate guests with mobility limitations. This space contains a separate projection booth to host equipment to coordinate your needs, and MMoCA will hire a stagehand to expertly work in the background. The Lobby is nearby to allow for easy access, and can be rented in conjunction to host a reception before or afterwards.
