Organized by the 2022-2023 Teen Forum, the exhibition MISE-EN-SCÈNE looks at the intersection of art and one’s surroundings through the artwork by eleven teen artists from throughout Dane County. The French term translates to “put into the scene” and describes everything included on a stage or movie set: the props, costumes, scenery, lighting, and other details that characterize a space.

The MMoCA Teen Forum is designed to give students, who have an interest in all kinds of art, real-life experience in the workings of a museum. During the reception, you’ll have the opportunity to chat with the Teen Forum about their selections for the exhibition and meet the talented young artists whose work was included, while enjoying light refreshments.

Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
